The goal of this demonstration project is to build a 12 000 m2 zero energy building in the Lyon-Confluence area in Lyon, France. SPL Lyon-Confluence has already been involved in a demonstration project for the construction of the first buildings of this major urban regeneration project (CONCERTO Renaissance project). As this first demonstration project had a significant impact on the other buildings that have been constructed in this area, SPL Lyon-Confluence decided to set such an ambitious energy target for this project.

SPL Lyon-Confluence, the landowner, launched a call for projects in order to select the developer that will build the P-Plot building. The team that has been selected by SPL Lyon-Confluence, Bouygues Immobilier with SLC in association with the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, has designed a project composed of 3  buildings called "Hikari", which means "light" in Japanese. This building was designed in partnership with NEDO, the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation of Japan, and Toshiba and matches the energy target set by SPL Lyon-Confluence. The construction is now completed and the building was commissioned September 2015.
